I was wandering through my favorite store, Home Goods, when I came across this beautiful shadow box.
It had a vintage feel to it with it's distressed grey finish and linen fabric lining.
I fell in love with this frame...and at $14.99 I couldn't resist it. I decided I would make a vintage collage for my newly renovated mud/laundry room.
You can click here and here to check out the renovation.
I started by creating these letters on Picnik.
Then the layering process began. I cut out two different papers...one I rounded the corners and the other I made into a diamond shape.
With letters in place, my next step was to go to the Graphics Fairy and pick out some vintage laundry prints.
I bought mini clothes pins from Michaels craft store and hung my laundry sign on my "clothesline" cut from the same scrapbook paper as one of the layers. This also allowed me to hot glue the clothespins onto the paper rather than onto the fabric, in case I some day change this. I also cut out flowers out of the left over paper and pinned those on as well.
So now I have a little art to look at hung right behind the washer and dryer. What do you think of my little creation? I love how it came out.
I always look forward to and appreciate your comments. Hope to hear what you think of this shadow box.
