My favorite flower is the hydrangea. I have a few hydrangea plants in my backyard, so early yesterday morning I went out and clipped a few to make a pretty arrangement for my kitchen.
I used a pretty buttery yellow pitcher I bought at the Ethan Allen warehouse sale many years ago.
There is nothing like fresh flowers.
They just make me smile each time I walk by them.
Here are a few close-ups.
Centsational Girl has a great post on how to cut hydrangeas.
In a few days I will drain the water and let these beauties dry.
They will make a beautiful arrangement dried as well.
What is your favorite flower?
Have a great weekend!

I love hydrangeas, but my ultimate favorite are peonies. They're so big and beautiful! Thanks for sharing, your garden must be gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love hydrangeas, too, Judy! Yours looks so pretty in your pitcher {which is very pretty in its own right}. I missed my hydrangeas in NY so much that I planted three pink ones here about a month ago. It has been so hot here though, that some of the flowers are drying right on the bush! I should go out and cut them to use in the house somewhere.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers Judy. I took some photos too of my hydrangeas..LOVE them. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHydrangeas are such beautiful flowers. Mine still have not bloomed yet. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE hydrangeas too! I asked my husband to buy me some for Mother's Day and he came through- he even planted them for me (which was a very nice gesture since I'm 8 months pregnant). They are growing fabulously and I am excited for them to get even bigger and stronger so I can cut some blooms to bring inside without missing them outside! I love how even when they dry and fade they are still so beautiful! :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Judy! My fav is the tulip but I love hydrangeas too and often cut clippings from our bushes! Have a super weekend and stay cool!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure why I have it in my mind that Hydrangeas are fussy -- I need to get over that and plant me some! I LOVE just about any flower -- I have a shade intensive yard so lots of hostas, lily of the valley, astilbes, irises and I just put in 4 peony bushes -- hope they do well. Other than that, lots of annuals - especially petunias :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

Oh i would love it if we could grow hydrangeas here, but not in the desert. Love them dried too. I guess I will have to settle for roses, we can grow those. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteTulips are my fave but I LOVE Hydrangeas too. I planted my first bush this year but it doesn't look like it's going to make it.
ReplyDeleteYour Hydrangeas are just beautiful! excited to be following you!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy! Oh, your hydrangeas are so beautiful! Love your arrangement and the vase is so lovely.
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Beautiful flowers -- I wish mine were as healthy and prolific. I am trying to dry some, but I think I waited too long to cut them. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteStopped at a sale last week that had nothing, just crap, but the lady had beautiful hydrangeas in her yard. Told my friend the lady should be selling those, she'd make way more than the junk she was trying to get rid of.

I don't have a favorite flower, but I do love hydrangeas. And I particularly love these in that yellow vase!

You guessed it. My favorite is hydrangeas too. I'm still working on getting huge blooms but we're getting there! Love the color of yours.
