We are leaving for our vacation to Hawaii in less than two weeks. With the school year winding down and vacation just around the corner, time seems to be flying by. I have so much to do in the next two weeks. Yikes!
That didn't stop me from taking a little time yesterday while hanging out by the pool to create some Hawaiian inspired jewelry. The pretty flower beads were sent to me by Wholeport, an online store that sells the most beautiful crafting supplies.
This was my first attempt at making jewelry, so I started off easy with a stretch bracelet.
First I laid out the flower beads I wanted to use.
Then I arranged them in order next to a piece of the elastic cording.
Then I started to string the beads. It's easy to string beads.
Within a few minutes my bracelet was done.
I tied it off about eight times and added a little glue to the knot to help ensure that it doesn't come apart.
Next I decided to make a necklace. The necklace was a little bit more difficult, especially since I really didn't have a clear idea on exactly what I needed to do.
I started the same way, laying out my design.
This time I strung the beads onto a wire. I added a clasp using jump rings.
Finally I needed an ankle bracelet to complete my look.
By this time I was a mini-expert and put together the anklet in minutes, using the elastic cording again.
These should be perfect for Hawaii.
Can't wait to hear what you think.
