Even though it was in the 90's here yesterday, and the schools cancelled all afternoon sports due to excessive heat, I know that fall is just around the corner. I stayed out of the heat yesterday and somehow found inspiration to start to decorate my home for fall.
Before blogging I'm not sure that I ever really changed up my mantel as often as I do now.
It's really quite fun. I used everything I already had on hand in my home.
A simple piece of pale green silk acts as the base for the birch candles, books and owl picture I made last year. Pumpkins always look a little more special with a vinyl initial.
I incorporated the flameless candles I got for Christmas last year into my mantel decor.
Glass jars filled with acorns, bark and other potpourri items.
The other glass jar is filled with mini pumpkins.
Warm and cozy...now if the weather would just cooperate.
I can't wait to hear what you think.

Have you started decorating for fall yet?

Very pretty, Judy! I haven't started inside yet, but it is supposed to get cooler here Friday, so hopefully next week I'll get my Fall stuff out. Yesterday I worked on my urn outside. I'm sure my neighbors thought I was nuts, especially since they closed schools here early due to the heat {and I'm outside sticking faux Fall leaves in an urn!}.
ReplyDeleteGreat job ~ very pretty!!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy! I love your pretty mantel! Fall is looking good at your house.
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Very pretty! I was getting excited about fall only to have it interrupted by 97 degree weather here in Boston. *ugh* There's a big tree that's almost completely red already down the street from our house, so I think I'll go stare at it once the heat is over to reignite my excitement. :)
ReplyDeleteYour mantel looks lovely! It was hot here yesterday too - bleah! I'm done with the heat and ready for fall. I have started putting out some fall pieces. I'm doing a little each day.

Dang! Our sports teams would never, ever practice if they were cancelled when temps hit high 90s! Down here in the subtropical South, that is average daily temp from April to October! Drinking water should be a team sport here.
ReplyDeleteI love your mantle! Very nice.
