A Day in NYC

My daughter's Godmother and her daughter Mia visited from Miami this past weekend.  It was Mia's 8th birthday and she wanted to spend it with us in NYC.  The four girls (two moms and two daughters) started by going to American Girl for brunch and some shopping at the store.  My husband and son went off to Lego and some other shopping and met up with us later.
What visit to American Girl would be complete without a salon appointment for the dolls?
Next we went to the top of Rockefeller Center.
It was a clear day so the views were incredible.  Even though I've lived in New York my whole life I had never visited the top of the Rock.  I love having out of town guests so that I can act like a tourist.
Next stop was FAO Schwarz...a kids dream.
Across the street from FAO Schwarz is the Plaza Hotel...an adult's dream.
Aren't those chandeliers gorgeous?
While at the plaza we visited Eloise's Shop.
The shop was filled with the most adorable, girly things.
On our walk over to FAO Schwarz and the Plaza I passed an Ethan Allen store.
You know me...I just had to go in and check out the store.
Here are my two favorite bedrooms vignettes they had set up in their midtown store:
This second bedroom has the same color scheme as my master bedroom.  Makes me go back to considering wallpapering the wall behind my bed.  I love the impact that the wallpaper has on the space. It was an amazing day all around!
Don't forget to stop back tonight and join in my Sizzle into Summer party.  The link opens at 8pm EST.  Hope to see you then!
