Guest Post-Fall on the Patio and Deck

Today I'd like to welcome Anna Thompson, a fellow blogger from Arcadian Lighting Blog.

Now that Fall is finally here, it's a good time to enjoy the cooler temps and earlier sunsets outdoors; preferably on the porch with a warm blanket and a hot toddy in hand. If you have a patio or deck, definitely take advantage of the weather before it gets too cool. Some fun ideas include hanging up extra light fixtures or maybe string lights, getting up a few comfortable lounge chairs with throws, and changing up the colors to include an autumnal palette (think amber, orange, goldenrod and browns). Take a look through these images for some more inspiration.

On this spacious patio, not only have the homeowners geared up for fall, they've also started storing wood for the coming winter. These LED lights add a soft and glittering light when it gets dark, as do these lovely green lanterns.
pendant lights
Nature provides its own decorative touch with fallen leaves and petals in this gorgeous patio. Since this a such a large patio, you'd do well to add a couple of hanging pendant lights for more brightness.

Here's a lovely indoor/outdoor patio. A vintage set of bistro chairs and a table compliments the beautiful simplicity of this space.
This spacious deck is beautifully decorated in fall colors; from the warm red of clay brick, to the patterned orange and red pillows, this one gorgeous space! And while this space is probably well-lit during the day, it's outfitted with additional lighting fixtures and candles for additional, ambient light.
ditto style
Yet another gorgeous patio decorated perfectly for Fall. There really is something magical about string outdoor lights especially at sunset and with cooler weather-- definitely incorporate that idea if you can. The setting is very casual, with a vintage picnic table and bench and a set of antique dishes and tableware.

Fall on the patio and deck is a wonderful time of year!

  7. These photos reminded me of the days I spent in my home’s deck during autumn. The falling orange leaves looked lovely and magical when I lit up my fairy lights and lanterns. The orange glow gave me sense of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. How I wish autumn comes now. Haha!
