We have been collecting Lladro porcelain figurines for more than twenty years. Lladro is Spanish porcelain. My husband introduced me to Lladro because his mom was a collector. I love it for its soft colors and intricate details. My mother-in-law is in the process of moving from New York permanently to Florida and offered me three pieces from her collection.
Two of the figures are collector items and were only available to club members (which she was).
The girl with the umbrella I am displaying under a new cloche
I picked up a few weeks ago at Home Goods.
I think she looks so sweet and dainty under glass.
The other two have been added to the display case with some of my other Lladro.
I added the man sitting to the corner of the display case and surrounded him with Lladro geese.
Something about him looked like he could be sitting in a park.
The little girl I added to the other side of the display case.
What do you collect?
I can't wait to hear!!

I love your Lladro collection! I always lusted after a cousin's Lladro angels but decided to concentrate on other, luckily smaller, collectibles.
My collection of Wee Forest Folk is small in scale and has been so much fun to collect, adding (and making) miniature accessories and dwellings to my displays.
I just posted about my new curio so you can see some of them.
Thanks for sharing!
I have Lladros, too, Judy! I have the bride and groom that you show. I love my Lladro collection, although I haven't gotten anything new in a few years now. I basically filled up our corner curio with them so I stopped asking for them for Christmas. I have a large Christmas set {a tree and two children} that I pack away and bring out at Christmas. My granddaughter has spied them recently and I find her over by the cabinet looking in at them.
Beautiful collection of Lladro! I have a cousin who collects them. I think the girl with the umbrella looks very elegant under the cloche.
I collected Dept. 56 Snowbabies for years. They are all packed away in the attic now though.
What a beautiful collection and display!
my mom has so many of these pieces, so they are reminders of home for me...lovely!
smiles to you and hope you'll visit soon.

I have a collection of Lldros I bought many years ago while living in Germany. They are all retired now and worth SO much more than I paid for them!! I don't think I paid more than fifty dollars for one, sure wish I had bought tons more!! A little note to anyone buying them be sure to look at the markings on the bottom. In the seventies they came out with Lldro Nao and if you are not really familiar with them they look almost alike but are not worth as much.
Sorry, Lladro not Lldro!!!
Wow, such a beautiful collection of Lladros. They are all so lovely.
Wonderful Lladro collection Judy. I have a few pieces too!
Beautiful collection Judy! My mom and I have quite a collection also. I see we have some of the same ones.
Judy, beautiful collection of Lladro! It has always been a favorite of mine. I grew up around it since I lived in Spain all my life and my mom collected it for years. You need to go see the factories in Spain. You can buy the most beautiful pieces at a fraction of the cost. Growing up, my mother made sure we took a trip every year! LOL
I have three Lladros.
And I collect lighthouses, rocks. and shells.
=)
I have 5 pieces of Lladro and love them for their soft colors as well. My cousin lived in Spain and he gave them to me as gifts. He got their Nativity collection and it is incredible.
I have Liadro too. I have a lot of the same pieces that you have. I have been collecting since we have been married.

I have one of these, she is a little girl holding a teddy bear. I purchased it after an intense counseling session and shopping was my 'taking' care of myself. She is a pretty addition to my china cabinet.
Judy,
Your Lladro collection is beautiful! I only have one and it's a lovely debutante. My parents gave it to me when I was a debutante in NYC.

They are so beautiful and I agree, the detail and the soft colors are stunning. Love your lady under the cloche, perfect. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
Hi Judy,
I just came across your blog when I was searching for the word ''Lladro''.
I am a young collector and have heard that collecting Lladro is not my generation's stuff. Some peole even consider Lladro Kitsch/corny/ugly. But I like them.
I dont think it's ugly.
I have also been thinking of purchasing a retired piece. But it seems that the retired pieces are not modern and nowaays more people are into the matte finish one with less coloring in the piece. Actually the matte ones require less attention to detail.
Do people still like the full of detail pieces or just the simple matte ones?
I dont understad why Lladro is considered the old lady's stuff.
Thanks,
Felicity
