Sinks For Two

It's funny...now that my parents are both retired, they seem to be bumping into each other all the time while trying to get ready in the morning.  When they both worked, they left at different times, so one sink in their master bath was more than enough.
Their master bath had a vanity with one sink and a make-up area...which by the way, my mom NEVER sat at.  So, they decided it was time to add a second sink.
They started by removing the doors and drawers.  They also had the cabinet maker construct a base for the new cabinet.
Next a hole was cut into the existing countertop.
Luckily the Kohler sink and faucet they already had was still being made and they were able to order a second sink and faucet.  They cut down on the expense of this project significantly.
The original cabinet maker also constructed two new doors.
Just like that they have sinks for two.  Doesn't it look like it's always been there?
It's working out great for them.  No more fighting over the sink in the morning.  As a bonus...it's a real plus for resale value.

Don't forget that Roomspiration begins on Monday.  Get ready to link up all of your fabulous rooms.

Have a great weekend!

An absolute plus and a must in my book, Judy! When we redid our master bath several years ago we put in double sinks. I couldn't go back to a single sink now and luckily the condo we are moving to has double sinks {plus that vanity area in the middle}. Your parents' project turned out great and what a great way to add another sink in!

Well done! You would never know it wasn't there originally.

It looks like it's always been there - great job! It's funny how people's routines are all different. Even after being with the hubs for over a decade, I don't share the bathroom with him. I can't seem to use the sink without checking to see if anything needs tweezing, and I refuse to let him see such things. I much prefer that he thinks I'm effortlessly pretty.
