Church Street Designs "Peace on Earth" Hand Painted Sign Giveaway

One of the most wonderful things about blogging is the talented people you meet along the way.  A few weeks ago Sarah from Church Street Designs joined in my link party.  I fell in love with this "Peace on Earth" sign she hand painted.
She was kind enough to send me one!  She shipped the sign immediately and it arrived at my home in only a few days, wrapped extremely well.  She does incredibly beautiful work.
I knew exactly where I wanted to use the sign...in my front hallway.  It's a beautiful way to set the tone of the season for everyone entering my home.  The sign is lightly distressed and I am in love with the fonts she used.  The colors are perfect for the season.
Sarah's Etsy Shop is filled with other gorgeous hand painted signs.
Not only was Sarah generous enough to send me a Peace on Earth sign, she is also giving

one lucky DIYbyDesign reader their own

 Peace on Earth Sign.

Also, Church Street Designs is offering DIYbyDesign readers 15% off when you order before January 4, 2014.  Use Code 15OFF.

Good luck!
Don't forget to stop back tonight for my Fall into Fall link party.
The fun begins at 8pm EST.  Hope to see you there.

Peace is more elusive than we think. Author C. David Coates wrote an eye opening poem which, like a mirror, exposes us to truths we may not wish to see. Here is a slightly modified version of that poem.

"Aren't humans amazing? They kill wildlife - birds, deer, all kinds of cats, coyotes, beavers, groundhogs, mice and foxes by the million in order to protect their domestic animals and their feed.

Then they kill domestic animals by the billion and eat them. This in turn kills people by the million, because eating all those animals leads to degenerative - and fatal - health conditions like heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and cancer.

So then humans spend billions of dollars torturing and killing millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases.

Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals.

Meanwhile, few people recognize the absurdity of humans, who kill so easily and violently, and then plead for 'Peace on Earth.'"

The good news is that anyone can break this cycle of violence. I did and you can too. Each of us has the power to choose compassion. Please visit these websites to align your core values with life affirming choices: http://veganvideo.org & http://tryveg.com
