Decorating Boxes

I bought a new pair of shoes...of course I had to do something with the box.
I found this very pretty contact paper at Target.  This is a quick and simple project to beautify any box you have in the house.
I rolled out the contact paper and laid the lid on top of the back side of the paper.  I then left enough to wrap around the edges and cut the contact paper.
In order to wrap the edges neatly, I cut the paper to each corner.
I wrapped from one side to the other and then folded over the final side.
After I was done with the lid, I repeated the same steps for the bottom of the box.
How simple is that?
Perfect for my daughter to keep some stuff in.

That IS really pretty paper. You did a great job on covering it and I'm so glad you showed the steps, 'cause I'm horrible at it.

Only two more years before Target makes its way up here *sigh*

Great paper, Judy! I love doing things with shoeboxes because they offer so much storage potential. This turned out really pretty and not only did you get a storage piece out of it, you recycled and reused!

You are so creative about repurposing things Judy! After seeing you use the ribbon from the Ann Taylor bag, this project doesn't surprise me at all. LOL! :-)

You make it look easy, but believe it or not, I find covering boxes hard. Especially with contact paper.

Maybe I'll try again...

*sigh*

Great paper, the box looks fabulous. I need to do that with some of the boxes and then have some chic looking storage. Great idea. Thanks also for your comment on the lamps. I was just stunned at how the brass looked. It really did change everything. Hugs, Marty

Now this is one of those projects where I see it, smack my hand to my forehead and think "Duh, now why didn't I think of that?".
This is such a BRILLIANT idea!

Contact paper is not my friend! Anytime I have tried to work with it, it gets all stuck together and I cannot get it "unstuck"! I have used wrapping paper and glue to do this. I love to make something out of "nothing". I love your contact paper. These are as pretty as some that I have seen in high-end stores.

Anyone that can control contact paper is a hero in my book. Seriously.

It wrinkles. I pull. It rips. I get the tape. It looks horrible. I hide it in the trash.

Yeah.

That's who contact paper and I get along.

But you, of course, are the master of the contact paper, too!

I bow down to your superior decorating talents!

Neat treasure box.

Thanks for sharing it.
