Swing into Spring - It's a Party #20

Welcome to this week's Swing into Spring party.  As always last week's party was filled with awesome ideas and inspiration.  Here are my picks for this week's features:
A Very Merry Vintage Style painted these vintage suitcases using Anne Sloan's Chalk Paint.  Check out her blog to see how she did it.
The Homeless Finch gave her jewelry box a face lift.  Look how gorgeous it is now!!
I love the idea of using drop cloths to decorate.  How cool are these letter pillows created by Ellen's Creative Passage using drop cloths?
I just love this DIY sunburst mirror created by Girl In Air out of faux barn wood.  What a great job.
Look at this beautiful before and after.  Decor and the Dog transformed this $0.50 garage sale find for her two year old niece's big girl room.  Now that's a great deal!!!

If you were featured, please grab an "I've Been Featured" button (you can now find my buttons by clicking on the buttons tab right under my header).  Now let's get started with this week's party.  I can't wait to see what you have been up to.  Link up anything you have been working on...home decor, sewing, crafts, organizing, baking, recipes etc.     I will keep this link open through Friday.

A few rules:
1.  Please become a follower.

2.  Please grab my party button above and display it either on your sidebar or somewhere in your post.  This way word can spread about the party.  The more people at the party, the more fun we will have.

3.  Please enter the link to your actual post, not just a link to your main blog page.

Do You Run a Diner Too?

I have two kids and they don't always love the same foods.  It makes dinner time a little more challenging.  Don't get me wrong, there are nights that I make one dinner and they either eat it or they don't.  However, my kids have super fast metabolisms and don't gain weight that easily, so I'd rather make a few variations to a meal and have everyone eat everything rather than one meal and have it picked at.  Here's my solution for three variations on one pasta meal...

I start out with a pasta shape everyone likes.
My son likes garlic and oil...so all I do is take a little extra virgin olive oil and add crushed garlic.  One precaution...don't burn the garlic or else you really need to just throw it out and start all over.  Burnt garlic is not a good taste.  I make enough of the garlic and oil to use some of it to start my red sauce.
For the rest of the family I make a red sauce using crushed tomatoes.  I start with the reserved garlic and oil and add the crushed tomatoes and italian spices.  It's that easy and much better tasting than a store bought jar of sauce.
My husband and I like fresh mozzarella with fresh basil and my daughter likes shaved asiago.
Now everyone was happy and it really didn't take me any extra time (or extra pans) at all.

Don't forget to stop back tonight at 8pm EST when my weekly Swing into Spring party kicks off.  Hope to see you then.

Swing into Spring - It's a Party - #19

Welcome to this week's Swing into Spring party.  Last week's party was filled with awesome ideas and inspiration.  Here are this week's features:
I just love these His and Hers nightstands.  Charming Decor scored these awesome nightstands from Goodwill for $5.99 each.  What a transformation.
This bench really caught my eye.  I'm in love with the fabric.  Making it Homey transformed an old bench into this beauty.
I just love these napkin pillows created by A Thrifted Market.  Isn't the fabric beautiful?

Peanut Butter Plaza transformed this beautiful french chest using chalk paint in Paris Grey and Old White.  I just love it.  Makes me want to run out and buy a can of Paris Grey paint.
Look at these gorgeous chairs.  I love the color of the chair and the fabric choice that 551 East Furniture Design created.

Swing into Spring - It's a Party - #18

Welcome to this week's Swing into Spring party.  First of all I would like to apologize for the mess up with the linky tools in the first twenty minutes of the party.  By mistake I clicked on basic party and didn't realize it until twenty minutes in.  Lesson learned...always double check before posting.  Even with the linky issues, 123 of you linked up.  So much talent and inspiration to chose from.  Always difficult, but here are this week's features:

I always love a good placemat pillow.  This one is really beautiful.  Hope you will stop by 1st Lady of the House  to check out the rest of her blog.
I am in love with these DIY lanterns created by House Dressing.  Gotta love what spray paint can do.

I just love this project.  It's a huge pouf knitted by Dukes and Duchesses.    I've never seen anything like it...how cool looking.  Now that's alot of knitting!!
I am in love with this nursery created by a la mode for her daughter.  How gorgeous!!

This is a garage sale lamp revamp done by The Mustard Ceiling.  You have to stop by her blog to see where this lamp makeover began.  It's truly remarkable.

This is a real trash to treasure.  When I saw this dresser, I was in love.  Stop by Primp to see where this dresser began.  It's truly an amazing transformation.
I love this frenchy end table that Sincerly, Ashleigh and Sarah transformed.  Gotta love the power of paint.
I just love this bottle cap button wreath.  How unique and cool is this?  Please stop by Pressed Down, Shaken Together for the full tutorial on how to create a wreath of your own.

I love this chevron ruffle pillow that Shelley created.  She gives an easy to follow tutorial.  Hope you stop by and check it out.

Swing into Spring - It's a Party - #15

Welcome to this week's Swing into Spring party.  As always, last week's party was filled with amazing ideas and inspiration.  It was tough to pick just a few, but here are this week's features:

You gotta love a great french chair re-upholstery project.  Marianne at Country Glamour Home did a great job with this chair.  Check out her blog to see the complete before and after pictures.
Here's another cool chair makeover.  So Stinkin Cute created this one.  I just love that fabric.
Wendy from Designed to Dwell shows the power of flowers to update a plain lampshade.  Wendy's blog is fairly new.  I hope you will all stop by and check out her awesome blog.
Check out this rug.  This rug was painted by The Mustard Ceiling.  Yes, that's right...it's painted.  You have got to go and check out the tutorial.
This vanilla bean cheesecake really caught my eye.  It looks so yummy.  Stop by Amanda's blog, Eating in Winnipeg to get the recipe.
