Decoupaged Easter Eggs and Winner of Shabby Apple Giveaway

Easter is quickly approaching.  One of my favorite ways of decorating for Easter is with decoupaged eggs.  There are so many possibilities.
I have some sheet music wrapping paper that I thought would look perfect on some plastic eggs.
I used very little wrapping paper to decoupage all of these eggs.
I like to use a sponge brush to apply the mod podge to both the wrapping paper and the eggs.  It adheres much easier that way.
I then wrapped each egg with twine and tied a button on each.
I then cut up some more wrapping paper into thin strips and folded it back and forth and put it in the bottom of the crystal bowl.
A quick and fun Easter project.
I can't wait to hear what you think.

The winner of the Shabby Apple $50 giveaway, according to Random.org is...

Ashley Bride on a Budget

Congratulations!
Have a great weekend.

Easter Egg Cloche

Easter is still a few weeks away, but I decided it was time to start pulling out the decorations.  It makes Spring feel that much closer, even on a bitterly cold March day.
I pulled out the decoupaged eggs I made a few years ago.  Everything looks better in a cloche.  Before blogging I didn't even know what a cloche was.  Now I use cloches all the time in my home decor.
I filled my cloche with the decoupaged egg and some faux robins eggs.  I added a layer of raffia and then tulle.  I wrapped jute around the glass cloche and sewed on one of my crocheted flowers.
I then placed the filled cloche on a cake stand.
It still needed a little something so I layered on a few buttons onto the flower.
Just enough detail for my flower.
I placed the cloche front and center in my foyer.
There's something very romantic about this look...don't you agree?
Have you started to decorate for Easter yet?

Don't forget to stop back tonight for my Winter Blues Wednesday party.

The party opens at 8pm EST.  Hope to see you then.

Decoupaged Eggs

I've been seeing so many cute ideas with eggs on blogland.  Here is my version to add to my Spring decorating.
I started with some plastic eggs I had in the closet from last Easter.
Using Mod Podge I glued the egg together.
I cut strips of scrapbook paper and used mod podge to glue it onto the egg.
I made several using all different patterns of scrapbook paper.  I will say that one paper I used was more like card stock and was much more difficult to work with.  My "cheaper" scrapbook paper worked very well.
Using a bread basket I have from Williams Somona, I filled it with shredded paper from a gift I received and filled it with my decoupaged eggs.  The basket reminded me of a bird's nest.  Perfect for my eggs.
I also swapped out my bowl of fruit for my rooster (yes, I'm aware roosters can't lay eggs).
I love my new eggs.  Here's a tip - if you decide to try this, my best results happened when I used my entire hand to squeeze the paper onto the egg to eliminate as many creases as possible.

I just love the vintage look of these.

Don't forget my Swing into Spring party opens tonight at 8pm EST.  Hope you stop back to show me what you have been up to.  Until then, I can't wait to hear what you think of my vintage looking, decoupaged eggs.  I always love and appreciate your comments.
